In the original draft, Kanda was supposed to go Titanic-mode and say 'If I die, who will be the one restraining you on a rampage with amnesia on top of that?" and Lavi was supposed to fight back Allen to buy time for the both of them to escape but I'm not willing to be that sappy XD
