My very first encounter of Joe, my very first con, was I nervous? Yes, giddy nervousness and lots of fangirlie moments. Highlights? Hanging out with Maggs (magaday) again and meeting face to face with GW's Syble (syble4),

It was great to meet you in person - I think we needed another day just to talk! So Paul swiped some of the coffee? (Guess I know what to bring him next time!)
Paul returned it eventually. I saw the Cartel brick back in Joe's gift stash by the time we were up for our autographs. Wasn't sure if he got wind of the coffee from you but I thought it was great that he snagged that.
I wished I had an extra day to hang out with you gals some more too. But alas, family beckoned. Perhaps over the holidays, I'll be able to swing by Phoenix.
Thanks. It wouldn't have been as much fun without friends there. And it helps that I was surrounded by people who had behind the scenes access. I can't wait to hear their reports, if they're willing!
Great report. I was nice remembering the good times and watching the vids!
It was great to meet up with you and the others. To be honest that's how cons use to be when I first started going. The last two (before this one) I went to, it was only me and I didn't have nearly as good a time. It really takes meeting other fans and having that 'moment' of understanding - and squeel.
Good times they were. I totally agree, friends make the con experience whole. When I was a lurker on the thread, it was fun reading everybody's reports. I realized then that it was important to have friends there to have a great time. That's one of the reasons why I delurked. And I don't regret it one bit!
Thank you so so much for this great coverage of the con. It's fantastic to see the video you got of joe. I'm really, really glad you had such a great time. My first con was in August in Chicago. Financially, I'm afraid it'll also be the last and now, having experienced a con, it's even more frustrating to know I won't be able to go another one. Joe in person is really, really addictive!!! Thanks again for friending and letting me share your fantastic report.
You're very welcomed. You were in Chicago?! Did you had a chance to meet up with some whumpers? or are you more a thunker only? Do you have any pics? I'm on the verge of con addiction all because of Joe (bonus if Jason and Rachel and David there too). Van Con is teasing me to no end, especially since I would absolutely love to see the Atlantis set.
I'm afraid my frustration about Chicago is that I wasn at all well prepared for it. I bought a camera that was far too small so wasn't able to get decent photos.! I had gone all the way from Paris to see Joe and when in front of him for autographs and photos was absolutely struck dumb

I'm sorry your Chicago experience was not as ideal as it could have been. But know that you're not alone in the awkward, foot in mouth, encounter with Joe! The man has way too much power!
I was lucky with my cameras. Apparently the LA Con is the smallest of all of the Creation Cons and so even though I was not a Gold Ticket holder, we were relatively close (~10-12 rows back?) so the distance and low lighting were still within the capabilities of my cameras. If I do go to Van Con, Vecturist made a very valid point. I need to buy early to get great seats since this con is huge (otherwise no pics/vids). Joe, Jason and the Atlantis sets... ho hum.
