courtney_bubble The love thing about Ryo and Okura - Get to the first date
“And you really think that I should try it?” Okura sighed.
Aiba smiled at him. He always had a good sense for people falling for each other. And he totally recognized how the high school’s coolest guys tried getting closer to Aiba and his friends.
There were four types of groups in their high school. The “we-always-have-good-marks-and-know-ever
ything-better” fraction, the “nerd-we-know-all-computer games-on-earth“ fraction, the “we-are-the-hottest-here” fraction and then there were Aiba Masaki, Nakamaru Yuuchi and Okura Tadayoshi - Aiba couldn’t say what their speciality was. They were just normal and didn’t have something special.
“And why the hell do you think that Ryo, Jun and Kame are trying to get closer to us? They didn’t even greet us in the mornings. I don’t think they want to spend time with us - sorry Tada, I know about your certain feelings,” Nakamaru said.
Aiba smiled. “You know, I have a different feeling concerning those guys. I am pretty sure that Tada should head forward and ask him for a date.”
Aiba could feel Okura’s eyes resting on him. “I am not sure if I can make this. I mean Ryo is premier league and I am just in a third class team.”
“Ah, don’t say such ridiculous things.” Aiba waved his hand. “That’s nonsense. In the end they are same as us - just a little hotter maybe.” Aiba chuckled.
“Okay, I will do that.” Okura fisted his hand and smiled at the others.
“Yeah, great,” Aiba chirped, clapping his hands together. His belly twitched joyfully. He had hoped for weeks that Okura would make this step, because he knew that this was worth it.
Ryo and Okura - The first date
Aiba sat at the backside of the coffee shop. It was the perfect place to observe Ryo and Okura and not be seen by them. Ryo immediately agreed when Okura asked him about a date. Aiba knew it - he always did. He could start a career as fortune teller for love couples. Aiba smiled because of this thought.
“Aiba’s secret love store,” he whispered to himself and laughed at that.
He looked up when he heard them entering the shop. Aiba got all chipper when he saw them talking with each other, getting along pretty well. “Jackpot,” Aiba whispered. He watched them talking with each other, smiling here and there, laughing together.
When they left the shop Aiba stayed there. He could already guess where this date would lead, so he didn’t need to interfere anymore - they’d find their way on their own.
Ryo and Okura - The next day in high school
Aiba was already nervous when he entered the building. He didn’t call Okura the day before, because he didn’t want to disturb him with whatever he was busy with.
“Seems that it went well,” Nakamaru said when he came up to Aiba.
“I have no idea, but they left the coffee shop together, so I hope that it turned out well,” Aiba answered. When Aiba saw Okura entering the school, his cheeks rosy and his smile brighter than ever before, Aiba knew that his sense was right again. “It worked out,” he chirped.
Okura came up to them, nodding. “You were totally right.”
“So you had the best night of your life?” Nakamaru laughed.
“A gentlemen never tells.” Okura grinned impishly.
“Good morning.” The three of them turned round. Ryo, who was standing now in front of them, smiled at them. “Do you want to join lunch today?”
“We all?” Nakamaru wanted to know.
“Sure.” Ryo nodded.
Aiba could see the sparkle in Nakamaru’s eyes and Aiba immediately knew what was going on in him. It didn’t escape Aiba that the other had an eye on Kame, and now it was the chance to get in touch with him. Aiba could feel the chipper feeling in him rising up again. There was the chance to make another friend of his happy.
“We’ll be there.” Okura’s lips curled into a big smile. Aiba could see the wrinkles around his nose appearing. Aiba had known the other for years - so he knew that only happened when he was totally happy and in love.
“I am really happy that this worked out,” Aiba said when they walked up to the classroom.
“I think I would never believe in your words. So I am happy you just forced me to go for Ryo.” Okura bounced from left to right. Aiba had never seen the other like this.
“Do you really think that there is a chance for me too?” Nakamaru suddenly hooked in.
Aiba tilted his head. He didn’t want to say something wrong in this moment. Of course he couldn’t promise Nakamaru something, but he had a real good feeling. “Maru, let’s find out together, okay?” Aiba held his thumb up.
Lunch with Ryo and Okura
The lessons didn’t want to end on this day. Aiba looked at the clock almost every minute. He turned left to see Nakamaru was half asleep on his book and Okura scribbled something on his notepad absent-minded.
Aiba looked at the trees outside. He wished that he could sit right next to the windows, but there was always a run on these places, so he sat right next to the door in the third row. He froze when he saw Jun looking at him from the other side. Aiba blushed a bit. He knew it must have looked like Aiba was watching him and not the trees and the little squirrel outside. He turned immediately and concentrated on his book. Aiba felt the heat rushing through his body and he had the feeling his blood was pulsating in his ears. Aiba hated himself for being so insecure and shy when it was about his own feelings. He always helped the others with their love lives, but when it was about his own, he failed terribly.
“Hey,” Nakamaru whispered in front of him.
“What?” Aiba replied almost silent to not get the teacher’s attention.
“Jun - he stares at you,” Nakamaru said.
“I know,” Aiba murmured. He didn’t like the feeling of being caught. And he hated Nakamaru for smiling at him like he already guessed about Aiba’s feelings.
Aiba breathed out deeply when the bell rang and everyone jumped up - it was lunch time, so everyone wanted to get to the cafeteria first to get the best menu of the day.
~~~
“Meatballs with potatoes?” Aiba wrinkled his nose. It was his least favourite food which was offered in their cafeteria.
“Better than the sausages they had last week,” Nakamaru replied, also staring at his plate.
Okura just smiled at them. Aiba rolled his eyes. The other was somewhere far away with his thoughts. Probably he wouldn’t even realize when there would be vanilla pudding with ketchup on his plate.
“Do you want to sit together with us?” Ryo came up to them, smiling at them.
Aiba grinned when he saw Okura blushing. It made Aiba’s belly jump with joy. He was incredibly happy for his friend - now he just needed to get Nakamaru to the right direction. “Sure, we will come,” Aiba said therefore.
The first minutes they just sat there at the table, saying nothing. Aiba tried hiding a grin when he saw how Okura and Ryo looked at each other.
“You are in the musical club, right?” Aiba asked Kame out of the blue.
Kame looked up at him. “Yes.”
“That’s pretty cool. Which play are you rehearsing at the moment?” Aiba wanted to know.
“Sweeny Todd.”
“Wow, that’s one of my favourites,” Nakamaru suddenly hooked in.
“Really? Mine too.” Kame smiled.
Aiba felt something in him bouncing. There was it - the start of their interaction. Now Aiba would try to get them together. He looked at Okura, who just twinkled at him.
“We could make a movie night, watching Sweeney Todd together?” Aiba suggested.
“Sounds like a great idea,” Kame replied.
Jackpot Aiba just thought. He already had a special idea how to bring them together.
Movie night with Nakamaru and Kame
Aiba had organized everything for this evening. They wanted to meet up at Nakamaru’s place around 7pm o’clock. Aiba felt all bouncy and chipper when he reached Nakamaru’s apartment.
“When will the others arrive?” Aiba asked. He slipped out of his shoes and walked up to Nakamaru’s living room.
Nakamaru had two bottles of Coke in his hand and handed one of them to Aiba. “Ryo and Okura won’t come. They decided to make a couple evening. And I really don’t want to know what they are doing right now.”
Aiba tried hiding a smile. Of course he arranged that. He told Okura to stay at home, because he wanted Nakamaru and Kame to have a get together evening. “Oh really, that’s a pity,” Aiba lied.
Nakamaru just nodded at him. Aiba could see that he was nervous. He had known Nakamaru for years, and they had always been friends, so he could immediately tell when Nakamaru was bouncy. When the doorbell rang, Aiba had the feeling that Nakamaru would faint.
Kame’s voice resounded from the hallway some minutes later. Aiba stayed in the living room, waiting for the others to return. Now there’d be his performance for this evening.
“Hi Kame-chan,” Aiba said with a smile curling around his lips. He looked at the clock. It was half past 7pm. He had sent a message right now when Nakamaru opened the door for Kame. Now he had to wait just a few more minutes.
“How are you doing, Aiba-chan?” Kame let himself fall down next to Aiba on the couch. Nakamaru sat on the chair towards them. Actually Aiba would have changed place with Nakamaru, because they totally needed to sit next to each other, but because he had already a different plan for this evening, he stayed there.
“I am fine,” Aiba said. “And you?”
Kame tilted his head a little bit. “I am fine.” Aiba knew why Nakamaru fell for Kame. He had a special way of smiling and there was a certain fascination in his eyes, a mixture between shyness, coolness and warmth. But compared to Jun’s eyes they were plain. Aiba shook his head. He wanted to get rid of his thoughts about Jun, because he needed to concentrate on his mission here.
“Which movie do you want to watch today - next to Sweeney Todd?” Nakamaru broke the short silence between them.
“How about Love Actually?” Aiba suggested. It was a love movie, but it was the perfect mood for this evening. “I brought it along.”
Nakamaru and Kame looked at him. Aiba knew that Nakamaru wasn’t happy about that suggestion, but he didn’t care about it.
“That sounds cool,” Kame said. Jackpot number 2, Aiba thought.
Aiba looked at the clock. Just a few moments and it would turn 7:45pm - and right in the moment the hand of the watch jumped to number 9 his mobile vibrated. He excused and stood up to take the call.
“Oh, really? And you need me to come now? But I am in the middle of a movie night with my friends.” Aiba nibbled on his lower lip. “No, it’s okay,” he sighed. “I will come.”
He looked at the others apologetic. “My grandmother needs some help. She broke her arm last week and now she needs me to get her some food.”
“Oh that’s a pity, maybe we should delay the movie night?” Nakamaru suggested.
“No, no, you have your movie night. We don’t need to delay it,” Aiba said. He hoped they listened to him and started their evening without him, because otherwise his plan would fail.
“Since I am already here, we can watch some movie together.” Kame smiled. “Just if you want of course,” he added.
Nakamaru nodded at him. “Sure.”
Aiba tried hiding his grin. He knew the certain tone in Nakamaru’s voice. Nakamaru didn’t like the idea of being alone with Kame - but on the other hand he loved it.
~~~
Aiba smiled on his way back home. He had his hands in his pockets. It was already getting colder outside. Aiba loved that weather. He could feel his mobile vibrating in his pocket.
I really hate you was written in there. Aiba smiled. He knew Nakamaru would write something like this.
But it worked he wrote some moments later.
I knew it, have a nice evening, Aiba wrote back. He felt all bouncy and happy when he thought of Nakamaru being with Kame, and Okura being together with Ryo. He loved his friends being happy.
The love thing with Aiba and Jun
Aiba stretched in his bed. He slept pretty well during the last night. He got some more messages from Nakamaru telling Aiba that everything went out well and he and Kame would meet again, and then he described his evening in every single detail.
Do you want to go for lunch today? Okura texted Aiba in the morning.
Aiba yawned. It was 8am and he was still tired, but a good breakfast with a big cup of coffee sounded too nice. Sure. 9am Starbucks? Aiba replied.
Sounds perfect. The answer came almost immediately.
Aiba slipped out if his bed and angled for the first t-shirt he found on the mountain of clothes he had thrown over his chair. He took one of his jeans and pulled on the pant leg till he was able to bring it up to his hips.
When Aiba left his apartment he had the feeling that there was something different, but he pushed this feeling away. But when he reached the coffee shop he knew why he had a strange feeling. Okura didn’t have time on this morning, because he planned a little trip with Ryo, so why would he go for a coffee now? Aiba looked inside - there was no Okura, but in the corner of the room sat someone. Aiba froze.
He walked inside and the heat in him rose. He could feel his cheeks blushing. He wanted to stop, turn around and run away, but something stopped him from doing so. “Hey Jun,” he said.
Jun looked up at him, smiling. “Hey, you. What are you doing here?” Aiba could see that Jun thought about why he was here, when he suddenly realized it. “Oh,” Jun said. “Ryo and Okura planned that?”
Aiba nodded. “It seems so. I really don’t know what they planned.”
“How about you sit down and we drink a coffee?” Jun suggested with one of the most mesmerizing smiles Aiba had ever seen.
Aiba sat towards Jun. He tried staying calm, which was rather difficult when he looked into those eyes. Now he remembered why it was so difficult for him to admit his own feelings towards someone else: he didn’t want to feel this nervous, bouncy and insecure feeling like he had to throw up again and again. And he didn’t like to stay in the dark because he didn’t know what the other felt for him. “Thank you.” Aiba smiled.
Aiba thought what he should say now, but he couldn’t think about a topic he could talk about with Jun.
“You were the one who brought Kame and Ryo to the others, right?” Jun said out of the blue.
Aiba curled his lips into a smile. “Yes.”
“And you seem really happy about your masterplan?” Jun tilted his head to the right.
Aiba nodded. “I was so happy to see them happy.”
“Maybe you can help me?”
Aiba looked up at him. He really didn’t want to help Jun find someone other than Aiba, and Aiba was sure that Jun wasn’t interested in him.
“Yes, of course I will help you.” Aiba hated himself for agreeing. He really needed to learn to say no to some things.
Jun’s expression was a mixture between confused and hurt, but maybe it was just Aiba’s imagination. “How about making a short trip to the beach?” Jun suggested.
Aiba’s mood rose again. He loved the sea, even though it wasn’t warm enough to go swimming anymore. “I am totally in for that.”
“I already guessed that,” Jun laughed.
“Why?”
Jun still grinned at him. “I have my informants, you know?”
Aiba blushed. What did Jun mean with that? Did Jun ask the others about Aiba? And if he really did so, why? Aiba twisted the spoon in his coffee absent minded.
“You really are silent today?” Jun spoke again. “I always see you chatting lively when you are with your friends.”
Aiba rubbed over his chin. “Yeah, I know. I am sorry.” He felt caught and embarrassed and he already hated his friends for bringing him in this situation.
When Jun suddenly started laughing Aiba winced. “Come on, let’s go to the beach.”
Aiba just nodded and walked behind Jun out of Starbucks. Aiba watched Jun’s back. He wanted to stroke over this perfect shaped body and touch his - for Aiba - most wonderful neck he had ever seen. But in the end Aiba just bit his lips and tried supressing the urgent feeling to jump Jun.
The beach date with Jun and Aiba
Aiba loved the sun and the sound of the waves brushing over the big rocks not far away from the beach. “I really love the sea,” Aiba said stretching his arms high above his head. He breathed in deeply to feel the salty air rushing through his nose. He could stay here forever.
“It’s really pretty nice here.” Jun walked up to a bench and let himself fall down there. “Perfect for a date.”
Aiba sat next to Jun and stared at the small waves curling on the sea. He didn’t dare to look at Jun directly. “A date?” Aiba whispered.
Jun smiled at him. “I thought it’s kind of a date today.”
Aiba blushed. “Okay.” It was the only thing he could say.
“Okay?”
“Yes, I mean, I don’t know, it’s just, I think….” Aiba stuttered. He could feel the heat rushing through his body, and he hated it. He wanted to act like he did when he brought the others together, but with his own love life he sucked. He couldn’t manage it to stay cool and get right to the point.
“You really are something,” Jun burst out in laughter. “You managed everything for your friends, who weren’t able to manage their love life. But when it comes to your own love issues, you really suck.”
Aiba pouted. “Hey, that’s not fair.” He didn’t know why he ended up in this situation. What did Jun want from him? Was he in love? Or was he just fooling around with him?
“Can you imagine going out with me more often?” Jun asked.
Now Aiba looked at him directly. He could see Jun’s eyes resting on him. They were dark, but with a warm feeling spreading in there. “You are pretty direct,” Aiba said.
Jun nodded. “Yeah, you know, I wasn’t till some certain people told me about some certain interest you have in a certain person.”
“That’s a lot of certain in one sentence,” Aiba smiled. He would scold his friends later for bringing him in this situation, but for now he would just go with the flow. “But going out more often would be nice.”
Aiba could feel Jun shifting on the bench till he was pretty close to Aiba. Aiba felt his heart beat rising. When he felt Jun’s leg touching Aiba’s his body started trembling in excitement.
Jun’s hand brushed over Aiba’s softly. Just now Aiba realized that he had his hands fisted till now. He opened his left hand and let Jun’s finger cross with his. It felt warm on Aiba’s skin and the warmth from holding Jun’s hand let the hot feeling spread over his whole body.
After the get together - 2 days later
“I really hate you two for doing this,” Aiba said. He pointed with his chopsticks from Kame to Okura.
“Oh, you know, it’s okay,” Okura smiled.
“I still can’t imagine that it turned out like this,” Nakamaru said.
Aiba just nodded at them. His excitement rose when he saw Kame, Jun and Ryo walking into the restaurant.
“They are coming, right?” Okura was sitting with his back to the door, but Aiba’s face must have told him that Jun came up to them.
“I think that’ll be the best time of our life from now on,” Nakamaru laughed and the others joined into it.
