Terry appeared on E! True Hollywood Story (unfortunately the story was not his) about Clay Aiken. Here are a few screencaps and a link to the video. I'll see if I can find a higher quality video.
That was very interesting. I'd never heard of the guy, but I'm actually quite impressed by him.. Turns out Terry is absolutely right in praising his singing. Pretty a fab guy.
And it is lovely thing when a so-called 'geek' does so well in a contest like the Idols, which often tend to be somewhat shallow, mean-spirited and coldly manufactured puppet-shows. Admittedly, I'm not a great fan of the whole show, as such, in any of its incarnations, but oddly - it seems that all it takes to restore even some of your faith in humanity, and the sheer natural skill, are these kind of wonderful people being accordingly, and tolerantly, so well-appreciated. Just as this fellow is (or was) for example, or the World Idol winner 'hobbit' Kurt Nilsen (he's on at 2:05, wow). Hehe.. Terry sure converted me just now.
Thank you for sharing, Soophelia. I hope this guy Aiken understands what a terrific singer is giving him such good complement. ;D
I'm sure Clay probably knows that to receive praise from Terry is definitely high praise (at least I would think so considering that Terry is well known in musical theatre). I don't watch American Idol, but I remember that Clay came in second and I think Ruben Studdard came in first. Unfortunately, shows like American Idol normally pick people based on looks, not just their singing ability. Clay has been one of the few American Idol contestants, in my opinion, to really be seen as more than just "that guy" on American Idol.
