Collins, Blackthorne Change Casts
Jessica Collins is joining the ever-expanding cast of NBC's Heroes, while Paul Blackthorne (SCI FI Channel's The Dresden Files) is joining the cast of ABC's Big Shots, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Collins (late of ABC's The Nine) will have a recurring role on Heroes, playing Sophie, a mysterious woman with powers who works at the organization that is tracking all heroes.
Blackthorne will play a sophisticated tycoon in Big Shots, which revolves around four high-powered CEOs or CEOs-to-be (Michael Vartan, Dylan McDermott, Christopher Titus, Joshua Malina) who socialize at the same exclusive golf club.
Blackthorne had the title role in SCI FI's Dresden Files. SCI FI Channel confirmed that The Dresden Files will not return for a second season.

Following weeks of speculation, including a possibility that production could move to Edmonton, Alberta, SciFi Channel has officially pulled the plug on "The Dresden Files," ending the show after just a single season.
TV Guide's Matt Roush broke the news to fans saying that the show just didn't make a big enough profit for the network to continue production.
SciFi Channel had avoided the topic of "Dresden" for some time, and would practically outright ignore anything asked about it. Robert Hewitt Wolfe -- the showrunner best known for his work on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" and "Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda" -- warned fans several weeks ago that the show was in danger of cancellation, but hoped still hinge on the fact that a final decision had yet to be made.
Don't worry about Paul Blackthorne, however, who played Harry Dresden in the series. He has joined the new ABC show "Big Shots" in a recurring role this fall, joining Dylan McDermott, Michael Vartan, Christopher Titus and Joshua Malina.
In a way, I kind of like that we know exactly what we have to work with as far as canon, and that we can go in a lot of different directions now if we choose - trying something new, or going back to the aired eps and expanding on little tidbits here and there....
