Oh wait, one more thing:

The oft-argued rumor of a PS3 Eternal Sonata port has finally been confirmed: Namco will release a version for the Sony console that allows the characters Serenade and Crescendo to be playable. Gamers will also be able to change character outfits.

WHAT!?? AAAARUGHASDHAHSDH... Serenade and Crescendo are the blond prince of Baroque and his fiancee. They're fairly major in the story as story things go, but neither of them seemed at all combat-oriented, heh. And they weren't on the official site at all. Man, that really ups the ante for the PS3 version though. Now a major question is, will Namco USA release the PS3 version here? If ToS is any indication, Namco USA will be dumb and the answer will be NO, meaning US gamers will once again be screwed out of extras. Back then, it was no new hi-ougis and no new costume titles and no Abyssion who is actually hard... now, it's no new playable characters and again no new costumes (and more?).

Then again, if there's no new Rondo it's not that compelling to me... ho ho ho.

Anyway moral of the story: PS3 whoops 360 again in the RPG territory. Ironic because just yesterday at a 360 conference (which included spokesmen from Square and tri-Ace) the speakers acknowledged that the RPG is THE biggest fanbase among video game players in Japan. The Xbox totally dropped the ball on that genre, and now the 360 is paying the price as nobody sees it as an "RPG machine". (Once again I will point out that as of the beginning of the month, despite 360 being out a lot longer, there were more than twice as many PS3 owners as 360 owners in Japan.) The purpose of the speakers was that Microsoft is hoping that tri-Ace's Infinite Undiscovery will turn things around. But if SO4 goes to PS3 as people are guessing, then it just looks like tri-Ace/Square are putting their 'surefire' game on PS3 and their experimental game on 360. Of course, IU could just pull a Trusty Bell and, if sales are terrible, get ported to the PS3 in the end anyway.

EDIT: Fun fact: So far in Japan in 2007, the 360 has been outsold 4:1 by the PS2.
