The difference between Taleb and McKenzie

A few minutes back I finished reading Richard McKenzie's Why popcorn costs so much at the movies and other pricing puzzles. Since the book is not available in India, I managed to procure an online pirated version through a friend. And since the book isn't released in India, I didn't feel guilty about reading the pirated version.

I do find a lot of such books...where there is an original kernel of an idea, and then that has been embroidered and embroidered and embroidered to make a book out of it, much as a spider spins a giant web out of gauze....when you blow on the cobwebs of your mind after reading the book, there are just a few strands left out of what seemed a strong structure that took 300-odd pages!
