Madras Trip - Random Thoughts

May 04, 2008 09:44

I'd gone to Madras yesterday to participate in the annual QFI open quiz. Went with the usual team - kodhi and madman (aadisht). Missed qualification for the finals by one point. The only saving grace was that we didn't miss any obvious question, so we didn't feel that bad for not qualifying. A few pertinent observations from the trip

descriptive, personal, quizzing, infrastructure

There already is a satellite bus stand in Bytarayanapura in Mysore road.

All buses from down south except deluxe(volvo ones) end and start their journey there.

yeah
we need more of those
and important thign is that even private buses should be made to stick to these satellite bus stands, and not uselessly roam the little streets inside town

Madras used to have bus depots in Broadway, Saidapet and Tambaram before CMBT came in...

The good thing about CMBT is, its more connected by local buses than the others were..
Being a blue blooded Chennaite I was about to take offence to "... unlike Madras, Bangalore isn't in a corner" , but didnt want to before understanding what you really tried to say by that...

in case of a bus stand, it's an advantage being in a corner
