Anyways I was wondering what could  be the rationale behind such violent protests. i can think of only one reason. by protesting the ( Read more... )

are you getting offended buddy, are you a TDC then, I am only referring to TDCs and not TDs, the very existence of a c there justifies me.

Wondering, how these days blogs have become a public place where one can come up with all the personal bashing towards a set of people (with common cultural nuances)... one such example is here ->

Though most of it is practiced under the umbrella of "freedom-of-thought" ..

Btw, pretty interesting acronyms for the northies :)

Atleast the gujjar's had some issue (however screwed up that was) to become violent. What was the point behind the violence when Rajkumar died ?

Secondly, the rationale behind the protests ? Well isnt it pretty obvious that in our country nowadays in order to get anything you have to collect a mob and go burn some public property ? You know no action will be taken against you (when have u heard someone was arrested for burning a state roadways bus in some such protest ?) and in the remote case when police does something to control the crowd, you will have hajar people/politicians/humar rights activists turning up to raise a voice against "Police Brutality".

i know
woresht it is. this free for all. and vote bank politics etc. makes it impos to crack down on these protests.

but the least we can do i think is to increase the size of the police force. i mean, the guys we have now are grossly insufficient, especially with rising crime, riots, etc.

that would also help solve the unemployment problem just a little bit!

well, to increase the size of the police force, the government needs more money. Which it is busy spending on either MP's/MLA's salaries/perks or other such very important things.

Some events in the recent past:
Karnataka: Riots over Rajkumar/Cauvery issues
TN: Riots over familial succession(!)issues in the DMK party
Assam: Murders of hindi speaking ppl
Rajasthan: Gujjar violence
Gujarat: Communal violence
Every state has it's own problems with sectarian violence...doesnt matter if the culprits are KT or HT or TT....all of them suck equally!

u bet. Bloody nowadays in our country even if a mosquito is killed by someone, i am sure there will be 10-20 people ready to come out and do some torching/burning of effigies etc.

oh yeah meenas have done well for themselves in getting a good share of the ST quota, and it's not just in Rajasthan i think.

i mean if the protests hadn't been called off we'd've seen massacres much worse than all those hindu-muslim battles!
