Hehe, Andrew and I always do that too. As soon as we try to say goodnight one of us starts off on a rabbit trail. It happens on the phone as well as IM. And since we're both kinda quiet people, every once in awhile we'll have a night where we won't feel like talking much, but as soon as we decide to go to bed, that's when the floodgates open. LOL
We haven't yet had a night where we don't feel like talking much. I always feel happier and more alert and more optimistic when I see her name on my contact list. Being around someone that wonderful makes being cautious and slow difficult. But I think we are proceeding with level heads and all due care.
We didn't either for months and months. But we're both naturally a little quiet so sometimes we're not as talkative, especially now that we've been together so long and are so comfortable with all of each other's moods. If we were together, those would be the nights where we'd just sit and cuddle and say nothing. I'm glad he's like that because I don't like talking all the time. :)
Yeah, it's really hard going slow. But I think the long distance helps counterbalance that.

...which is a bit ironic when you consider how I have an endless supply of words when it's 2 a.m. and I should be saying goodnight.
*sigh*

I am very happy, until I think of the distance. Then I think of something else and return to happy. :)
