One aspect of having a baby that we hadn't much considered beforehand is the bureaucracy! Apart from registering the birth, there's child benefit, child tax credit, state 2nd pension protection for Polly (though that may not be worth a penny in 30 years time of course!), child trust fund ... and nowadays every baby has to have his or her own ( Read more... )

Well! Baby Eldarion was two weeks old yesterday, and it's been a busy time. As Polly mentioned in her post, she came home from hospital Tuesday last week. Since then we've done very little except look after the baby, but strangely it seems to have added up to rather a lot of work! ( More details - and photos! )

Eldarion has finally made his appearance, 1 week and 2 days late, at 5.30pm today 2 November. He's fit and healthy and so is Polly. In the end the labour was relatively quick though at 9 pounds 5 he was pretty big! ( Here he is )

It’s been a while since posting and Polly is now at 35 weeks of pregnancy, so 5 (on average) to go. Scary! ( So it's time for a baby update. )
