The Grey Goo event was happening. The nanotech had eaten their way out of the nanotech-proof cage. Tinkering with the tiniest robots humankind had ever created was giving us our just desserts. Just a matter of time, really. We’d been lucky with the atom-splitting, the fusion, and the particle acceleration so far. Nanotech, not so much
