Arisia Highlights

I said I was going to go and be very chill and not worry about doing much. Naturally, this meant I was super busy all weekend long (and I still didn't manage to see a few people I know were there, like teenybuffalo). It was good, though. Here are some memorable things:

OMG, it IS an Arisia miracle. Praise be to Arisia!

Oh, you were at Arisia? Cool! Seanan just got back from that.

Way to go, Lexx! I have actually heard of that show but don't know much about it, except it sounds like a weird Farscape rip-off. Although, heh, it predates Farscape.

I think I may have seen her at one point. Possibly at the Broad Universe party. I've never met her, but there was this woman who looked vaguely familiar, and I later realized is was because she reminded me of the drawing on the cover of the CD my friend just sent me last week (Red Roses and Dead Things). So. There's my sort of maybe near brush with your friend....

Your friend sent you her CD? Aw, cool. That is indeed her on the cover, so you probably saw her. There are some good songs on that CD, like "The Black Death," "Dear Gina," and "Causes and Effects," among others. "Oh, Michelle" is just fun.

I think my friend really really wanted to make me listen to "The Black Death" because we'd talked about the bubonic plague when she was visiting over Halloween.

It was both my kids' first non-breastmilk food. It's still something they go bonky for.

Thanks for the shout-out. And for enjoying "Lady Marmalade" so much you came back for more--and still stuck around to hang out with us.

It was a blast meeting you. And Moss, who vaguely reminds me of the protagonist from LeGuin's Lathe of Heaven. And Sumana.

I'm still trying to finish my Arisia wrap-up. When I do, can I quote you?

Yes, feel free to quote me. It was excellent to meet you and Rachel.

Thanks.

Oh, I forgot to mention--Rachel is also on LJ as violet_moon25--although she doesn't post very often.
