Great Success!

Today, I walked home from Davis Square. It was way too hot out, but the red line was experiencing delays due to a disabled train, and the tunnels aren't air conditioned, so I figured I might as well spend the time walking in the hot outside instead of standing miserably in the hot inside ( Read more... )

I got stuck in the same Red Line delay, and wished I'd thought to get out at Porter to walk to Davis. Stupid trains. Glad your ankle didn't protest too much!

Yeah, I was in Diesel in Davis Square all afternoon, and their AC was broken, so I was already hot. The prospect of standing on a hot and grimy underground platform for 30 mins while I waited for a train when I could get home in roughly the same amount of time really didn't appeal. Is your new place ready for visitors?

Hm. My stuff is all unpacked and away, except for a few neatly stacked boxes of books that I ran out of shelf space for. However, I have a roommate who is in a band and he has guitars everywhere. For some reason, he also seems to be storing his clothes in the dining room. He told us yesterday that he's not renewing the lease and moving out in August, so...I'm giving up the fight until he's gone. I am up for minor company (you and Moss), but I'm not up, for, say a housewarming party.

I was mostly thinking of just me or me and Moss. Maybe next week sometime. But only if you want to show your new place off. Else we can meet out somewhere.

Yay--I'm glad you're walking again.

And that's great about your excerpt (I have still only recorded two portions of "Rappacini's Daughter"--I was hoping to give it to you at Readercon but it might end up being the following weekend.

No time limit! I'll be happy to hear it whenever it's ready. *g*

And yes, v. relieved to have my excerpt sorted. I need to practice that right now, actually.
