I feel that I have now had the total Louisiana experience. I've done Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and today I slogged 150 meters through a knee-deep swamp in the middle of a forest. It will be days before my boots are completely dry again. And I can't even drown my sorrows in a frozen mango margarita because I gave up liquor for Lent! I am ready ( Read more... )

If I'd known you were hoping for rain I could have sent you some of the buckets worth we got dumped on us the last few days.... I hope Ohio is better when you get up there!

Hi! Found your journal through your post on the archaeological community (love the song and pics). Thought I'd drop a note to say:

1) Hi!
2) Loved the song, loved the pics.
3) At least you're in Louisiana in the winter, the vegetation is as thin as it's gonna get.

I started working for a company down here last year. It's been interesting!
