Drabblish-fic thing: Jack/Five

So, miss_zedem asked for Jack/Five fluff and this is what I came up with. It isn't extrememly fluffy (I just can't do pure fluff. My inner emo starts whining).

Blond hair brushed Jack's nose as he held the Doctor tightly to him. He was aware of what an odd couple they made; him in his army greatcoat and his Doctor in his cricketing whites. No, not his Doctor. The Doctor. His Doctor wouldn't be along for, oh, who knew how long? No matter. Jack would find him eventually.

This Doctor, though, would be difficult to give up. He was adorable. Floppy hair, a boyish face and a hell of a lot of charm all added up to someone Jack really wanted to spend more time with. And the worst thing was that he couldn't.

He knew how timelines worked. He'd been a Time Agent, he'd travelled in the TARDIS and now he was travelling the slow path back to the Doctor and avoiding meeting himself along the way. And this Doctor was an earlier regeneration. Once Jack had realised who the man was (and that had been a bittersweet moment when he found the sonic screwdriver in the pocket of the frockcoat) he had asked a few subtle questions. The responses he received, along with the "John Smith"'s lack of recognition, confirmed that the Doctor hadn't met him yet. And timelines dictated that their meeting simply couldn't have happened. Jack would have to be the one to do something about that.

He didn't want to. The two of them were curled up together on the sofa and the energy that the Time Lord contained warmed Jack like nothing else he'd ever found. He sighed and pulled the Doctor closer. He brushed his lips down the pale neck and bit lightly at the wool of the V-neck jumper.

'Oof!' Jack pulled his head back. 'That tickles. Why the hell do you keep celery on your coat anyway?'

The Doctor shrugged. 'I like celery. Don't you?'

'There are tastier things around.'

Jack kissed the Doctor to prove his point. This took them both a while and thoroughly distracted Jack from what he was going to do. Both their coats were off and the Doctor's jumper half over his head in no time. Jack's hands made several explorations before resting on something bulging in the Doctor's trousers.

'Is that a cricket ball in your pocket?' he asked.

'Maybe I'm just pleased to see you,' suggested the Doctor.

Jack, his hand still on the ball, kissed the Doctor again. They fell back on the sofa eventually for what would be their final time. On the table a glass sat with the faintest dregs of Retcon still sitting in the bottom.
