Ok, I have Semagic now, and I really am going to try to cross-post to Dreamwidth and LJ. Being able to cross post at the click of a button should help.

Who's on Dreamwidth I'm missing, or would like to be reading me? (I am never going to be able to abbreviate that to DW. DW is Doctor Who. *points to icon*) Who should I be reading on Dreamwidth. ( Read more... )

The Doctor Who communities I'm following on Dreamwidth have been quiet, but they have been picking up since last week. The fiction one is "dwfiction"; the other one is "doctorwho." I should probably post more to that last one.

May I add you to my reading page over there?

What's the difference between Dreamwidth and LJ?

Dreamwidth is (as I understand it)currently owned by a smallish group of people, some of whom are former LJ employees who became unhappy with the how LJ has gone since the original owners sold it. They say they are dedicated to open source licensing, will never sell personal data, and will never have third party advertising on Dreamwidth. I dunno if that will last forever, but Dreamwidth is currently ad free.

The system currently works by giving each user a limited number of invitation codes for free accounts. Anyone may sign up if they pay for an account. That way the servers aren't swamped. *g* I still have 3 codes, if you're interested.

So far, everyone on Dreamwidth that I want to read are on LJ, so for now that won't be necessary. But as some point I'll have to browse their music communities, just to be sure.
