one of my friends who i pimped the show to missed seeing cassie s1 episode and i think her home life really...explains where she is from and where she is coming at life.
s2 i understood her perfectly...she thinks she was dead in life so acted animated to cover it up. now...she is numb and dead inside and dosent have the energy to fight it.
and...tony lied to her at the ned of his episode saying things will be alright...that crushed me when he said that and now i am reading these spoilers and...yeh..poor cass
i completely agree. i think the problem is that she cares for people more than they care for her. that would make anyone feel bitter & unappreciated. i can relate to cassie as well. to most people it would look like cassie had a stable home life but her parents don't give her enough attention. she's a complicated character.
Yeah I thought her family actually seemed ok in her episode. Not great obviously but not as bad as some of the other characters. However, the fact that they apparently haven't checked up on her at ALL this season is ridiculous and shows just how neglectful they really are.
I was more shocked when he died than anything. I was still horified by the WAY he died to cry. Then when Cassie cried at the end and I saw the preview, I bawled my eyes out.
i totally agree with everything you've just said/typed. it just seemed to me that she was so disillusioned with what was going on around her, and instead of staying in the shit and living on in that heap of pain, she thought it better just to run and start anew.
and in a way, i think she's braver than most of the other characters. unlike michelle with her advice of getting "over it", as if it was something she should have to deal with.
that's part of the reason i dislike michelle's character so much, she's used to crap and for some reason is okay with that. and i hate it that people are okay with living below the standards of personal happiness.
I completely agree. I don't think that Cassie is selfish, but I can see why other people might think that. It's just the idea of being pushed into a world she isn't emotionally ready for. That's huge. And everyone is going to react to that differently. For her, it was about escaping, and I think they showed that really well.
