I am incredibly excited about this, especially with regards to Mini. & Also more Nick, because he makes each episode infinitely better. & what's with this 'literal cliffhanger' stuff?! Tomorrow cannot come fast enough.
Ngl though it really frustrates me how I seem to be the only person who is not impressed with Dakota's acting whatsoever. Her dialogue is constantly stilted, her expressions barely changing and ugh. I dunno. Maybe I'll see it in this episode but for me she's thus far one of the weakest.
I'm more frustrated by her Pro-Matty and Fratty-friendly interview, tbh.
Jokes (well, not really) aside, I think she is a little bit disappointing. She was good in her episode, but then went blank along with her character. She has great chemistry with Freya, but mainly due to Freya's being awesome at her role, not the other way around.
I think though that the fact she actively points out who's decision it was for Matty and Franky to happen says a lot about what she thinks. It was all "he says that they have this connection, that he understands her" etc? Or it was the impression I got anyway. You'd have thought they'd learn from past mistakes omg. I say it all the time but come on. They read fanforums etc and you can't escape comments about Freddy and Effy's ~love stares and ridiculousness so why would it work a second time? /rant, sorry.
I completely agree with what you said re: Freya, & though I can't judge Dakota wholly as I've never seen the Golden Compass or anything else she's done, she just falls completley flat in this role for me.

Agreed and I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't think Dakota is an ~outstanding~ actress. I think she's well enough but if I had to pick three top actors from this gen, it would be Freya, Alex, and Will/Sean.
Anyway, they wrote nothing we didn't know before. To be honest, I'm mildly interested and certainly not looking forward to watching FML/Fratty, which, probably, will occupy 60% of the screen time.
Give me Minky, Alo/Nick Bromance and Hardlet realizing they are better as couple. And good music, and beautiful cinematography, and good lines. Nothing more, nothing less.
