Last summer, I decided to give my hair a break: little to no heat styling, no dye, hydrating coconut oil treatments, and some good old-fashioned TLC. Sounds like a good formula, right?

Wow, thanks for this! It does sound like you have it down to a science. =) I've been using the cotton tee shirt trick for a while now, and it works sooo much better than wrapping my hair in a towel. Helps it dry fast and really brings out the curls.

I'll look for that Ion deep conditioning treatment. I definitely see the difference when I'm deep conditioning once a week. And like you, I've learned that only shampooing once a week is the way to go with wavy/curly/dry hair.

Where do you live now? I live on the West Coast, but I noticed on trips to Boston my hair was shockingly smooth and sleek. Amazing how differences in climate can affect hair so dramatically!

I've just moved to Jacksonville Florida from Tampa Florida... the humidity kills sometimes.

Ion products are sold in Sally's Beauty. I LOVE them.

I've never been to Florida, but I've heard horror stories about the humidity there...California climate varies a lot from region to region, but when I lived by the beach in Southern California I definitely had to work extra hard to prevent major frizz. Usually it was better if I just surrendered to my curls and tried to bring them out rather than fight them.

I'll look for Ion products. Do you use them to straighten your hair as well, or just keep it curly?
