As incentive?
[Nel's thoughts jump right on ahead.]
... Assuming you know more of it, do the measures get progressively more drastic?
[Not that she sees the freaking point of it, other than "Hey! Let people know you're alive!" Which can be done just as well by knocking on various doors. She is still unhappy.]

[Nel's lips flatten into a white line. Waking up chained to her mattress had been the rudest wake-up call of her life, second only to a wingless dragon finding her tent during a shift swap. Lucky for Nel, she's a light sleeper.]
I wonder if we aren't a pet project to him. I can't yet think of another explanation for why he would give incentive to use the communicators.

[She might have prayed before. Now? Praying never exactly gave her peace of mind, but she used to glean a measure of comfort from it, being a habitual practice more than a desperate plea for help.]
I don't like to knock at the gates of wolves, with all due respect. The worst I've seen to happen here could have been avoided by some forethought.
[Ffffff damned women taking the things he says figuratively literally.]
As you wish.
[She's kinda right though. Raoul's second death certainly could have been avoided if he hadn't been foolishly curious that one night. His first as well, but asking Raoul not to meddle with Erik is like asking the sun to stop being so bright. The third... well, call it an overreaction and bad luck.]
It's not as though anyone listens to me anyway.
[The last part is spoken, and quite irritated. Looks like he doesn't expect her to hear or understand it.]

Not really, but it seems people who go long periods without posting--either on their own or replying to the squirts--are very likely to disappear.

Oh?
[She detects and interprets his irritation, is unimpressed and unsympathetic.]
Have you been doing anything to make others ignore your input?

[Matter-of-fact.]

[Nel is a god damned lethal weapon, dammit. Only her queen is allowed to pluck at her puppet's strings!]
