Now Let Me Welcome Everybody To The Wild, Wild West...

I took Starscream out for a spin on Thursday evening and the results were good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything is smooth sailing from here. Weather permitting, I should be scooting to Osborne Village tomorrow to get my hair dyed for the competition on Monday. During my scoot on Thursday, I passed another scooterist who also had ( Read more... )

I love those pictures! Especially the first one. I like how they have an edgy feel, but not the kind where you feel that someone is intentionally trying to be edgy (if that makes sense).

What kind of primer was it? I use smashbox photo finish and it works REALLY well for me, and I also have really dry skin. I usually use MAC studio fix fluid on top, and they work together quite well!

I get what you're saying about the pics. :) If I get around to it, I may upload them all (there's 8 so it's not a ton or anything).

I had Make-Up Forever High Definition primer that had a subtle blue tint to it. I found it didn't really moisturize nor was it particularly good as a primer as my foundation would still crease in my laugh lines. :( I had been looking at Smashbox Photo Finish so I may hit that up at some point. I think I should also not be using powder foundation and switch to liquid. I'm using MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus and it works pretty well. However, I think the MAC girl may have guessed incorrectly on which colour would be best for me as in some lighting I'm afraid I have a bit of that orange look. *sigh* Stupid bitch. So, once I've used up this MAC stuff, or at least close to it and have got fed up with it or something, haha, I should probably switch over to liquid.

If you're looking for a hydrating/moisturizing primer, then I wouldn't use the photo finish. It is basically a silicone gel that just smooths over your skin and makes it easier to apply foundation so that you use less of it, but it helps to provide better coverage. Clinique has an awesome moisturizer (the moisture surge), and I bet you could get a small sample jar. As for your foundation, I would just go to the counter (or shop, whichever you have--I only have a counter) and bring the box and/or receipt (and sometimes they let you get away with neither) with you, tell them your problem, and usually they will let you do an exchange. Whenever I have a problem, I always just exchange! They really care about helping you find the product that is best for you. I feel you on the colors being a tad dark, though. I'm an NC15, but I feel like it is just the slightest twinge of orange on me (I'm so super pale, AND nc15 is the lightest they carry, ugh). I know that at the MAC Pro stores they have a white medium, so I've been thinking about ( ... )

I'm not set on the primer being moisturizing, but I was led to believe that Make-Up Forever's was to be somewhat moisturizing.

Thanks for the suggestion on MAC. :) We had went into the store (we have a store and just a counter) and the girl was a total bitch right off the hop. She suggested NW20 to "brighten (my) face a bit" as I'm also super pale. After using it for a couple of months, I'm noticing moreso now that we have more natural, bright light happening that it makes my face too pink/orange. I hope they wouldn't mind doing an exchange so long after the fact.
