It's a series called Maximum Ride by James Patterson. Basically it's about six kids ranging from ages six to fourteen who were brought up in a lab and experimented on. Every one of them have wings and an assortment of other powers each. They've escaped from the lab, called the School, and are on the run. But apparently they were created for a reason, so the scientists want them back.

It's a fun story, well for me anyway. I'm really enjoying it. And the main character is a girl, which is something I haven't seen in a long, long time. I just can't find a good adventure book with a heroine nowadays. ^^ But this one is good. Currently there are three books in the series but I hear there's a fourth one coming.

*nods*

Thanks. Books that have a female in the lead are my fave as well ^_^ Have you read "The Deeds of Paksenarrion" ? It's a trilogy, with a very good female character. Fantasy.

Chris, off to look for the books

I've never heard of that one. It isn't LotR-esque, is it? If it isn't I'll go check it out. I don't think I can stomach a LotR style adventure nowadays. xD
