I don't think you get it, I just found out the people who were supposed to love me unconditionally lied to me my entire life. If I can't trust them, why would I trust anyone. No matter what you do or say right now, I'll always be wondering what you're getting out of it, or what it'll take for you to turn away. Hell, if I was more of a brat I'd be actively pushing you away just to prove you don't really mean to help me.
