So I started the new year by going out and buying my mother a laptop. <3

She's been wanting to get one for yonks. In fact, every time we go past a computer shop, she says longingly, "Maybe I should get a laptop. Then I could go surfing when I go travelling! And it would be so cool having something to carry around." So anyway, back in Hong Kong

OMG - I think that's my laptop! It's certainly a Toshiba, and seems to look almost identical (um...yes...I know nothing about technology). Has all that face recognition log in, integrated TV Tuner and stuff (or so the little sticker decal informs me). Seems to be going very well - I'm finding my way around Windows7 (for the all important task of Fanfic writing) and the keyboard seems to be useful.

It also already had Mahjong on it :)

Awesome! :D I'm a big fan of Toshiba laptops - you can drop 'em and abuse 'em, and they'll still work. Yours *might* be a Dynabook, which looks about the same as this, only with a TV tuner (we already have too many TVs in the house without my adding to 'em)... but hey, about *any* Toshiba is good!

And yes, there are plenty of good games in there. ;)

Thanks but, um, I don't get people things for entirely pure, altruistic reasons, haha. I just *like* giving people stuff - it's more fun than getting stuff for myself (I don't have many wants/needs), and I get a dopamine rush out of it when they get excited.
