Guns, Leeks and Celery

I haven't decided if PLAY is a blessing or a curse in my life. All these years I've lusted openly after firearms (both real and replicas), grousing over local firearms laws and the absence of (local) shops that sold replicas and not being able to purchase them overseas. And then PLAY goes and sets up shop in the mall five damn minutes from my house ( Read more... )

Ah, Cary - you know how to speak my language! (I just hope you're not bankrupt in 3 months, as I would be if Michal Negrin opened next door!). I'd actually love to buy a repro 1820s appropriate repro weapon, but I have the uncomfortable feeling that customs wouldn't be happy with it, even in checked-through luggage!

'Kay, like I totally adore leek and celery, but respect for those who aren't into them! I had to learn early - my father was born to be a cheese afficianado. To debate the merits of a stilton over a glass of port. He adores rich, hearty food, drink and the good things of life. But, alas, it is the one food he CANNOT abide. No allergy, no reaction - just loathes it.

Ahahaha, oh Force, I hope not either! It's a good thing that none of the replica firearms are immediately available from the shop, and that they'll have to order whichever one I want; it gives me time to ruminate over my choices and trawl the internet and check prices and stuff. (Then again, I also angsted forever over my duelling pistol before buying it).

And ayuh, not quite a barricade boy without the gun, are you? LOL. Don't they sell stuff like this in Sydney? Can't see you smuggling a replica through Parisian customs come June, though, alas!
