We've been having a few days of early spring this week, and it's been nice. I find the smallest of birds fascinating to watch - the wrens, chickadees, and the house finches (which look large next to the others.) They flit around in pairs scoping out ( Read more... )

I was so determined to buy one of your calendars for my office, and then, just around Christmas, the NZ$ took a nose-dive against the US$, and I couldn't justify it. Next time the exchange rate is good, though...

Ah, that brought a smile. Thanks. :)

And, I agree, in general they are priced on the high end for wall calendars, but they are quite large and the quality is excellent as far as construction and printing process are concerned.

I'm definitely going to be making another for 2010. Even if I don't sell any, just putting them together and seeing them on the site is a trip! ;)

By the way, Zazzle has opened a UK site, zazzle.co.uk and created mirrors of all the Zazzle users galleries/shops, so you may get a better exchange rate there in the future. http://www.zazzle.co.uk/skellorg*

For some reason, the US and UK exchange rate seems to work out about the same against the NZ$ - or at least it has every time I've checked. I have no problem with spending $19.95 on a calendar, but when it works out to NZ$40, it's a bit hard!

I love your fractal work, and understand about the creativity thing, too. I was getting really antsy here, with no hand-work to do, so I bought some needles and wool - not very creative, but I always feel better doing something with my hands while watching TV or reading. (And I have soooo many sewing projects lined up for when my thesis is finished - it's the great big carrot dangling in front of me!)

Knitting is something I often wish I'd learned to do. I can crochet, but not well and one can only make so many throws, hats and scarves. I was thinking just the other day that I was doing needlework from the time I could thread a needle on my own (thanks to my grandmother and her love of embroidery) and I really miss it; in addition to embroidery I did a lot of cross-stitch and quilting. My hands are just non-functional enough to make all that impossible now, so I'm very envious of sewing projects. It's great that you have that to look forward to. :)
