i need to re-read jonathan strange and mr. norrell; it was so wonderful the first time, i'm sure there are many hidden treasures waiting to be rediscovered on a second read.

and ... i've had a lot of touchy-feely friends. i don't mind it - when it's someone i know. but wow, she really went overboard. i was afraid she was gonna hug me when she left lol.

let me know if The Eyre Affair is any good - it sounds very interesting.

p.s. your story of the lady discovering a deep connection with you made me giggle. I've been there, and it can be just as amusing as awkward.

i will let you know about the eyre affair. i did, of course, think of you immediately when i picked it up. i started reading it this afternoon - only a few pages because i'd blown my morning at b&n and needed to get some work done, but i'm happy to report that it was very, very easy to get into it from the start.

in retrospect (and now that she's not standing next to me, grabbing my arm) my encounter with my fellow anglophile was amusing, but that amusement doesn't extend as far as a phone call if i ever do manage another trip to the uk. ;)

oh, and while i have you here - i just realized i forgot to reply to your reply about the x-stitch stuff. i haven't forgotten and do have some things i won't mind parting with forever. i just need to find the inspiration to sit on the floor and dig through it to find the things i think you might like.

I'm very intrigued. I'm tempted to go to the bookstore and look at it, but my conscience tells me I need to buy things like gas and medicine first. :-/

ha, I can imagine she'd be low on your to-call list if you were to go again. Don't rush on the x-stitch, I know you are busy. I still haven't even finished my very very tiny lamb. I probably would have by now, but my sister wanted me to knit her a baby blanket, and as her due date is in about 2 weeks I had to get to work on that and that's pretty much my designated "hobby" for now. I'm almost done though and hope to get back to my deformed lamb soon.
