Her grandfather is suffering senile magical dementia and occasionally turns himself into things. Once he was a paisley ottoman for over a week. The family put their feet up on him while they researched how to change him back. Can't let a good ottoman go to waste.

It's one of those things that came about entirely as part of the writing process. I decided to have her write a letter home, because we're using a wiki tool (Obsidian Portal) that has a section for 'Adventure Log' journal type entries, and she's just NOT a diary kind of person. I wanted something silly to hint that her family was silly, and what came out was "I hope grandpapa hasn't changed himself into anything again." Poof, suddenly there's random character background. :) Writing is awesome.

Thanks! I'm pretty proud of myself. It's such a weird medium to sculpt in -- the ear was easier than I expected, but getting the hair bobbles to stick on has been awful! I actually want one more layer on the big one.
