AND GO

CAUSE SOME TROUBLE

Chapter 2-- The Desert of the Dead
Okay, I’m just gonna say that this chapter was tough to write. It’s pretty dark, since Zafi and Basam have to deal with the aftermath of the attack and all. I’ve never written this much angst before, so this is kind of new territory for me. I won’t lie, I’m glad to be done with this ( Read more... )

Finally! It only took FOREVER for you to get this chapter out. Awesome stuff, again, and I can't wait for the next one!

Yeah, well, you can't rush brilliance! XP Haha.

May I ask what specifically you liked/disliked? :)

Also, your icon made me LOL for real. Reminds me of the Avatar Rule Of 30 my friends came up with: for a person in the Avatarverse, your Awesomeness Factor increases with increasing distance from the age of 30. Look at who the most badass people in canon are: in one direction you have Aang, Katara, Toph, Sokka, Zuko, Azula, Mai and Ty Lee, Suki; and in the other direction you have Iroh, Jeong Jeong, Bumi, Piandao, Hama, Pakku, etc etc etc. All the really young and really old people are hardcore badasses. And stuck in the middle are the people who get their asses handed to them: Long Feng, Zhao, Kuei (sad but true), all the various dads...

Aaaand I'm officially rambling.

Oh, but it's a good kind of rambling. And I continue to really like how you characterize Kuei; he doesn't know what to do in his situation, but that's because he's totally out of his element, not because he's a bumbling moron. He seems like he has the potential to learn and become useful eventually. It's a little bit of wish fulfillment for me; I was really bummed when they put him on a bus after the S2 finale.

I kinda disliked the pacing, but I understand this is more a getting ready chapter where thoughts have to be said and boring things have to be done before more interesting things can take place, so it's forgivable.
