I always found that friends only is not the solution because you miss out on that random person reading your journal (I get that all the time since my LJ is linked on myspace).

After all friends come and go...

And neither is self censorship is the solution... You just have to either be very vague with the posts sometimes... Being vague makes people think and you still know what you are talking about when you go back to read them.

But that is my opinion about it... I know allot of people who do friends only...

good luck to ya on the friends only thing. I do that from time to time... but I get lazy and forget to do the whole friends only option.

As far as haveing to watch your words... fuck that.
I just had 2 friends in my personal life just leave the lj thing cause they didn't like some of the stuff I was writeing. we are still close... but come on... it's a personal journal.
If some one does not like what you write.. they don't have to read it. *shrug*

Yeah. The actual reason I made it friends only is because there were 2 people I didnt want reading it. I was getting nasty comments from them. Made me mad.

Ive done that already. Banned people. It works but there are ways they can get around it. =/
