i'd read this story in navy times about nine or ten months ago.  a beautiful, baby girl was born without a face. the bones just weren't there. her father was stationed at nas jax with me. it really hit home. being so close to something so powerfully tragic. and i have the nerve to get sad about xavier's eye problems.

Wow. Reminds me of the guy on Ripley's who had to have his face removed because of a fungus that could have killed him. Did you see that one?

no, i didn't see that one. have you ever been to one of their museums? they're incredible!
