So having lived in Liverpool for a month and a half now it's pretty much become all normal, the routine is now pretty set (not that it's hard to set since I work from home) but there's still the really amusing bit which is the Scouse accent/dialect.

I am surprised that you didn't dig up Harry Enfield's "the scouser's" comedy skits, including the notorious "the scouse Alphabet".

Haha, I did, but then again I wanted something showing how people genuinely talk on a day-to-day basis. Harry's Scouser skits always make me giggle :D

I take it you didn't hear much Yorkshire dialect whilst living in Wakefield. To me, that's a lot more difficult to understand than Scouse!

Yorkshire seems to have mellowed over the years. Even in the time *I* have lived here it is noticeably more RP than it was. With the exception of Barnsley.

Of course I did, my neighbors had a very strong Yorkshire accent. At first I did find it hard to crack what they were saying but then no trouble for most part. Takes some getting used to, so I suppose in a while Scouse won't be as bad :P

Hafta listen to that when I'm somewhere quiet. ^_^; I can usually make sense of just about any accent, though it can take a day or so to get properly attuned. My own, meanwhile, is.. hmm. Well, the puppy would be able to say. It's not really from anywhere in particular, though it's probably broadly Southern England, with various subtle tweaks.

I recall watching Trainspotting, in San Diego, with subtitles abounding. =:D

Scouse is such an unique kinda talk, though it gets a bit much sometimes, especially when buzz keeps winding me up with it. I have to swat him away then :P

I used to think there's not much variation in Polish, but actually there is quite a lot! I've been told I speak with an Eastern/highlander twang, and in fact there is some difference in vocab and phrases from mainstream Polish.

Lesser Poland highlanders have their own dialect, same for Silesians, and Kashubians are classed as having an own separate language. So there's more variety than anyone might think!

As for my English, it makes people think I'm from the States or Canada, sometimes Sweden and rarely Poland.
