Okay, I've totally succumbed to the pretty Russians. I'm working on this right now. Probably won't be able to post anything for a day or two because of RL stuff, but watch this space.

To clarify warning: two of them are underage, one is not.

Takes place right after the 1998 European Championships. Alexei won gold, Evgeni silver, Aleksandr bronze.

All the rules seem to have been temporarily rewritten, Sasha thinks. Not that they were ever written in the first place, but there’s a pattern that’s becoming more and more evident with every competition. Tonight it all seems to have disappeared in favor of celebrating. Sasha’s not quite sure what’s happening, but he intends to enjoy it ( ... )

It occurs to Sasha that he’s got a fifteen-year-old sitting in his lap, a fifteen-year-old who just kissed him and looks like he’s considering doing it again, and this is something he should really discourage. “Zhenya,” he begins, and then doesn’t quite know what to say next.

Evgeni puts his hands on Sasha’s shoulders and looks him in the eyes. “I’m only a little bit drunk, Sasha. I know what I’m doing. And don’t say I’m too young, because I can take care of myself.” And the thing is, it’s true. Evgeni’s been taking care of himself for years, and he’s never let his age stop him from doing anything. Sasha slides his eyes sideways towards the nightstand, and judging from the amount of champagne left in Evgeni’s abandoned glass, he’s telling the truth about that too. Not that that’s any excuse, because Sasha’s the one who’s technically an adult here and should know better ( ... )

LOL Zhenya's really quite the precocious little tyke in all ways, isn't he? Author anon, you delivered and much more! I loved the entire second paragraph/Sasha's thought process and jealous!Lyosha. You now have my internet cookies and internet wodka, found some this morning :-)

In 1998, Russia changed the age of consent to 14 - so if you wanna get technical, both Zhenya and Lyosha are over-age here ;)

Thank you for the information! I actually did look this up when I started writing, and considered putting in a tl;dr disclaimer about age of consent laws in Russia (and in Italy, where this takes place, because author!anon is obsessive), but obviously I didn't do that. I think I figured better safe than sorry. But if I ever post this anywhere else, I probably will include that disclaimer, just because I can. ;)
