The choice of all 'Phoren' companies caught my attention as well. I know Mario Garcia has been involved with the 'modernization' of many group print publications of The Hindu.

Like all stereotypes, there's more than an element of truth to what you pointed out. But I find it hard to believe that in this day and age there are no Indian companies that can design a website like that. In this instance The Hindu could just be using a trusted entity with the right brand appeal. Maybe they figured it was the quickest thing to do to contract a company that has done it more often than anyone. I am not sure.

Asking for an Indian CMS would be taking nationalism a bit too far. You would just use the best available product, won't you?! That Indian software product success stories are few and far between is a different topic ... :)
