Welcome to California, one of only three states to have a constitution that removes rights from it's citizens (and the only one to remove one after it was legally granted).  Or at least it looks that way at the moment, since proposition 8 is on the brink of passing.

Good point, I just edited the entry to correct that. I thought that we were the only one making it an amendment, and Fl. and Az. were just laws, but I see now that they are amendments as well.

Definitely on the side of removing marriage from being a legal term.

I'm all for Civil Unions being the legal form, while Marriage would refer to the religious institution.
