Expect the unexpected

Sep 12, 2007 09:10

Despite my excitement at the thought of maelstrom, I had expected to be slotted quite early on and to have to come up with a new character idea pretty quickly; though this did not dampen my enthusiasm any. To my surprise this didn't happen and I did in fact make it to the end in one piece despite the distinct urge to make a suicidal charge at a ( Read more... )

I am so pleased that your game came together in the end and that you managed to get a good sense of the character. It is always a challenge to come into an established group with a new character, but I think the fact the White Lions are in a state of flux and change at the moment, is possibly the best time for you to arrive.

Will keep fingers crossed for you and your preparation plans for next year.

I like the idea of the final truffle batch. At least this way, you will know that if you ever decide to make tuffles again, it's because you decided to because you wanted to, not because it was expected, which I hope will be a nice change. Less stress for SJL is a wonderful thing.

Thinking of you!

You're right that coming into an established group is tricky particularly as the group's known to me. But the fact that there was flux actually made it harder - a bit like being on quicksand.

I should also point out (before I seem like a total victim), that the group never *made* me make them truffles - it's my own stupid fault for doing it because people seemed to like them so much. And creating two new varieties whilst we played the group was probably because I'm a total sucker for punishment.

Ah, there is no helping some people, who make rods for their own backs!

As for White Lions, you seem to have done really well, despite the challenges you faced. Yay for you!

Oh and if I'm nearby, I'm always up for truffle tasting!

The truffles were marvellous though! Do you have an easy recipe I could use?

Glad you enjoyed the event and good to see you again after far-too-long.

(I'm hoping you can work out who I am now I've added you as a friend - mail me if not)

If I've guessed correctly then it has indeed been a very long time since I saw you last. Yes I have an easy recipe for truffles(the milk chocolate ones are easiest). If I get my butt into gear, I'll scan the page from the recipe book and distribute to any who want it. Is the mail addy on your profile best one to use?

PS How did you find those dubious native types? Steve's storytelling was fab btw

Yes, the profile addy is as good as any - they go the same place. If you could send the recipe I'd be most appreciative!

The dubious native types were great fun to be around. It's a totally different experience to playing an old-worlder. Plus the mask wasn't as much of annoyance as I expected thanks to the leather one being underneath.

glad to here you got masks sorted and presume it didn't put you off wanting to play the race. The leather one looked cool. I never got to see you kitted up (or if I did, then I just didn't recognise you) - this would not be a first for me though! You'll have to poke me if you spot any piccies
