What really jumped out at me in this entry, however, was your fleeting mention of "Batfink." Good God, that was a terrible show. I would literally run crying from the room whenever it came on ABC Kids. To this day Dad has even this horrible habit: whenever we have a big argument, just at the point when I'm at my most emotionally riled up, of puffing up his chest, holding his arm over his face and saying "your words cannot harm me, my wings are like a shield of steel!" I am so sorry. Truly it was a horrifying show, and I should have thought before mentioning it so casually and with so little warning. I've worked up something of a resitance to it through shared commiseration with my mother (who was just as boggled and annoyed by it as me when she was little. Honestly, why would they re-air that?!), but I do hope I've not done you too much harm in my insensitivity. *pats you*
Maybe you could fight your dad off with some super-sonic sonar radar next time?
