There is a smokey haze here. Last time that happened was during the Canberra bushfires a few years ago, and I remember being amazed then at how big the fires must have been for the smoke to travel 350kms. We're around seven hundred Ks from where the fires are now, and the smoke is so thick you can't even see the back paddock properly and the sky ( Read more... )

media watch is only on at the same time as GNW if you really, really want to watch dirty sexy fast money. which i usually do so suck it, media watch. missing south park makes me sort of sad.

also what about desperate housewives, woman? DID IT SLIP YOUR MIND?

Ohmigod, it totally did! I AM DEEPLY ASHAMED.

... Although, I'm usually happy just flicking to it. Which can cause problems - am still reeling from the shock of flicking over to see Gale Harold in bed with a woman last week. My world, she was turned upside down.

i was just making a sarcastic comment because i wasn't sure if you watched it or looked down your nose at it or anything. but uh, way to go me, i feel! i'm awesome.

was she at least reasonably androgynous? or can you just rationalise her as being a beard?

Oh the awesome of you! I was joking too, mostly - it's a bit of fun to flick to, but I think I'd go mad if ever I tried watching it properly. Every character is just so silly.

Well... she was Terri Hatcher, so. I doubt it. I think I just need to get over the fact that Gale Harold is an actor, and that all of his roles are not going to be copies of Brian Kinney. :(

Your heartfelt and moving sympathy comforts me greatly. As does that icon. You know how fond I am of that icon.

Don't you just hate that? The Stephen Fry thing is a two-parter, at least, so you can catch the next one. And Media watch is online somewhere, for the really commited.

Jeez, and my flight was only an hour long. You definitely win.

(The closest I can think of is the school excursion to Tasmania, during which I (and several others) was either carsick or completely stoned on carsick tablets for an entire week, because we spent almost every minute of every day during that week on a bus. Except when we were on boats. Next time, I'm swimming Bass Straight, sharks be damned!)
