You know, I think this is why Jack keeps getting caught looking dense. It's because he's been having one of those thoughts, and can't pull himself back to the moment at hand fast enough. His team thinks it's all guile, trying to get underestimated. Jack knows it's all just a mind intent on focussing where it's not supposed to, but won't disabuse them for fear they - and especially Sam - will get wise to him.
