hey! one of the colleges in Portland is doing a gender studies symposium next March, and I was thinking about putting together a panel on gender/ sexuality and fat studies - the proposals are due next week, so if you were interested in presenting there (its a week or 2 before the PCA), let me know and send me a paper abstract in a private message (or your regular email in a PM). There's the PCA conf, checkout Nolose's website for much fat and queer stuff going on that they've funded... I assume you're in contact with people in the fat acceptances hubs - ie Portland, Oakland/SF, NY? Are you a member of the Fat Studies Yahoo list? If not, post this on there and folk with tell you about stuff...

Thanks Corinna. Yep, I'm on the fat studies list - I've had one response from there so far. I think it's probably too early at the moment - not one really has any dates set for 2010 yet. I may need to re-post this request in a few months...

Hi, I'm Kentucky Fried Woman. I am a queer fat femme performance artist who produces a lot of events in the San Francisco Bay Area. I will be producing a show called Flabulous! here in San Francisco next month and again in June 2010 for the National Queer Arts Festival. The show features all people of size doing drag, burlesque, cabaret, etc. and might be a great event for you to attend if you are here. I also think that the NOLOSE conference will be in the San Francisco Bay Area around then as well...so I say, come to San Francisco in June 2010.
