In less than two weeks' time, the final chapter will be published. It's been less than a year since I stumbled across this story and I only wish it had been a part of my life for longer- even with the gut-wrenching monthly wait for each new chapter. Anyway, there are many, many people on my friendslist who have no idea what I'm talking about, so it

Hell yes *high fives*
Also, yup to the rest. I think I'm gonna link this from my flist; it's the kind of post I had in mind myself. :)
I only discovered fma a few months ago, I wish I'd found it sooner.
For example, a brief shot of Roy in bed chapters after he's severely injured? There's a little bag of medicines on the side table; hardly even visible but they're there.
I loved that panel! And others like it. You don't often find that attention to detail (not outside fanfic, anyway.) So much expressed in just a few lines, and it makes that world appear all the more real.

I didn't even notice the medicines until about the third time I re-read vol. 15. It's the tiny details, and the way she uses such small cues to convey so much, that I adore about the art. And I am obsessed with teeny details as a writer so that makes it even better!

I only just found this here (via tumblr, as it happens) and I have to agree to every single thing you've said. Haha, and Hawkeye definitely needs her own reason, yep ♥
Ah. Now I feel the need to re-read or re-watch it. Again.

lol, when I saw the females and no Hawkeye in the names, I was worried until I scrolled down a bit. Yes, she deserves to be a reason all on her own. It's funny that she gets the most suggestive eye catches in brotherhood (plus that scan where she's all shirtless before the Fuhrer)

THIS. ALL OF THIS. Arakawa has put so much detail, effort, and love into this series and it really shows. All of the characters are different from one another, and she handles such difficult concepts such as genocide with such delicacy that it is impossible to deny her talent as a writer and artist.
AN OMG THE ~LADIES~. Winry, Riza, Lanfan, Izumi, Olivier, Pinako, May, Paninya, Rose, Ross, LUST, Rebecca, and pretty much EVERYONE OTHER LADY THAT EXISTED. I love all the characters, but I was so happy to see such awesome ladies!!!!!! FMA is like ATLA in that regard (and also in that both tell amazing narratives with the plot planned the whole way through).
