So, last week i reported that my stomach had been acting up. Well, it appears to have crapped out on me completely. After a scary, scary night in the emergency room, i learned that it was not my appendix, gall bladder, or other intricate organs, (thank whatever gods there be for that!) but the ER docs were stumped, and have referred me to a fancy ( Read more... )

indeed. i've been out of school for a few days now (horribly behind) and i don't know if it's feeling better or if i'm just getting used to being in searing pain at the belly. i'm *hoping* for the former.

Ah, that sucks Carlye. You have both my sympathy AND empathy. I, too, have been cursed with bad guts. You name it and I either had or I got it. [I've had colitis and my appendix burst on me last year. I still have both a peptic ulcer and an hiatus hernia...blah blah blah]

Obviously you can't start dealing with something until you know what the hell that something is. However, once you do find out, you'll be really happy to know that all of that shit can be gotten under control.

Good Luck, Fierce Lady.

thank you, Sweet One. a friend's mom suffered with colitis her whole life, i'm hoping desperately that's not it. also, my own darling mother keeps sending me articles about Crohn's Disease, she is convinced that's what i have. i'm hoping it's just a bad case of the Irritable Bowel Syndrome (also known as Fussy Butt), as that doesn't cause physical changes and is more of a quality-of-life issue, rather than a fucked-up surgery/life-shortening Disease. *crosses fingers* if i have to have Something, on top of hypoglycemia, arthritis, ulcers, migraines, a bad attitude, and scoliosis, please god, let it be something mild!

Fingers crossed then for Fussy Butt! (God. What a bizarre yet totally funny thing to say!)

[But yeah, while IBS ain't always a great time, it's totally manageable... again, been there Chica; soluble fiber and stress-busting exercise have become super-duper friends of mine.]

Whatever it is though, just keep having as much fun as you can, Carlye. The curative power of fun never ceases to amaze me.
