The first single from Broken Bells, the new collaborative project of Danger Mouse and The Shins' James Mercer, is now streaming on their page and available for download. It's called "The High Road" and, upon first listen, I love it. Check it out!
I finally became a Shins fan when one of my best friends made me listen their last album, Wincing The Night Away. It's an absoultely fantastic album and I highly recommend it. But yeah, I'm a fan of his voice as well and ended up listening to this song about eight times in a row before forcing myself to stop. Glad you liked it.
Me too, and James Mercer is quickly climbing my list of favorite vocalists. I listened to this damned song about ten times today and it really sucks that the album isn't scheduled to be released until March. Here's hoping it gets pushed up.
By the way, how are you doing? I haven't talked with you in forever. Anyway, it's good to hear from you.
A new home? Congrats! And I'm glad you're happy despite being extremely busy.
I'm good. Same old same old here. Work, hanging out with friends, and seeing the family in between. Nothing too exciting, but I'm enjoying life, so I can't complain. What do you do for work?
Listening to "The High Road" right now. Cool song. It's the kind of song that will show up in a movie soundtrack soon. Probably in a comedy-drama movie about a woman going through the trials and hardships of life and discovering a reservoir of strength within her that she never knew existed.
Wow. I'd totally agree it's the type of song that would turn up in a movie. I wouldn't have gotten all those details, but after reading this, I can totally see it!
