OCD

To my experience, we're all OCD about one thing or another. What are some of the things you're OCD about? (I apologize to those of you who might be bothered by my use of "OCD" as an adjective, but not sincerely ( Read more... )

I'm OCD about so many things and they are so little that I can't as easily make a list like that.

A good example though that happened to me a few weeks ago was that I ate at a restaurant with my friends and I got a honey bubble tea where as my friend got a mango one. The straw they gave her was orange, but mine was blue... I was totally distressed about this, because mangos are orange, but honey isn't blue. D: (and both of the teas were the same colour too so it wasn't even a matching issue...it just bothered me in my head) xD

That's an awesome story and a excellent example of an OCD moment! Haha I laughed out loud at that because I can totally imagine it. Thanks for sharing! =)

Your #4 is a big thing for me as well, though I think I get a little out of control with it. Specifically, in my apartment things have to be in their spot, if not it drives me nuts. Doors have to be shut and lights turned off immediately upon leaving a room. At night, I'll get into bed, before I can settle in I have to make sure the closet doors are shut (though I know they are) I have to do it a few times before I feel everything is set.
Weird, I know =P Also, I count everything. No matter what I'm doing- brushing my teeth, or swallowing a drink like you mentioned. Changing channels on TV, anything. I silently count in my head. Haha, I just now realize I'm odd.

Haha yep, you're odd, but no more so than I am. That's funny how you have to check and recheck the doors a few times before you can rest. Your going to bed routine made me think of how I check the ceiling and walls for spiders at least a couple of times before I feel comfortable turning the light out and going to sleep.

If I didn't stop playing something on guitar until I'd played it perfectly three or four times in a row, I'd be up for 24 hours. Perfect to me is PER-FECT! It's damaging, really, so I don't listen to that little voice.

I know what you mean and I can be pretty damned demanding on myself, but I've been getting better at ignoring that voice.

I also tend to take extra time to pick the perfect CD to bring on random drives, like to the store and whatnot. Also, when playing around on my keyboard or guitar, I can't settle for stopping until I've played whatever it is I'm trying to play flawlessly a couple of times in a row, no matter how long it takes or what hour it is.
Hahah, same for me as well.

Also, I'm extremely OCD about music categorization, period. All of the CDs in my room are in alphabetical order by band/artist and nothing pisses me off like when there happens to be a song on my iPod that doesn't have a name/album/artist etc.

And pretty much any time I decide to clean my room I get INCREDIBLY OCD about getting everything exactly perfect, and drive myself half crazy obsessing over every detail. But I only clean my room about once every three months, lol.

Haha yup, I can relate. I used to have all my CD's in alphabetic order by artist like that, but it became too much to bother with when my collection grew past like 200, and now I've got over 2,000. I do keep them in categories, but not alphabetized. I just make sure all the CD's from one artist are together and in chronological order. So yeah, my laziness beat out my OCD in that scenario.

I'm the same way with my room, except I only really clean it a couple times a year. But, when I do, I go nuts and have to have everything just right.

Oh yeah! Awesome.

My favorite is five, then seven, and then there are just a handful of numbers I like, including 11 and lots of double digit numbers that, like I said before, when you add the two digits together, you get 5 or 7 and so on. Haha and you thought you were weird.
