Run DMC and Aerosmith's collaboration on the 1986 remake of "Walk This Way" is seen by most everyone as the beginning of rap rock, yet here's Afrika Bambaataa and John Lydon (Johnny Rotten of The Sex Pistols) together as Time Zone performing "World Destruction" in 1984, two years earlier.

Warning: filthy, sleazy, disturbing industrial rock music below.
You say that like it's a bad thing.

It's funny how one artist can do something and go unnoticed, and then another one can do almost the same thing and basically take credit for it. Right thing at the right time, I guess.

I may say it like it's a bad thing, but you know I love it. Just a fair warning for those who aren't into it.

Right thing at the right time, I guess.

Exactly.

Yeah, I figure that's what people mean, too, but I still like to put it out there that this one did exist earlier and give credit where credit is due. And good point about the grunge scene.

Haha no worries. I do like industrial rock, but even I'm not always in the mood for it. I will say the video itself is fairly entertaining though.

This is the second time someone on my f-list has posted that video "World Destruction" by Johnny Rotten and Afrika Bambaataa. far_east_coast originally introduced me to that video. I love the song.

I have no words to say in response to that video "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" by the Revolting Cocks. Wait, I do have one word: AWESOME. Sleaze is always good.

That one guy on my f-list who cites Sister Machine Gun as one of his favorite bands is made of pure awesome.

Don't know if you're familiar with Leftfield, a London based Electronic/dance act, who did this great song with John Lydon ....

Yeah, I'm know of Leftfield! I've actually come close to picking up a CD or two of theirs because I heard a couple songs I liked a lot, but haven't done so yet. And I never heard this one before. Thanks!
