Phenomenal

A friend at work told me to check into this very talented artist a couple days ago when I asked if she had any recommendations. I finally did so just now and I am a big fan. And her album is now at the top of my "to buy" list. I see she's been featured on NPR from looking at the comments, but give it a listen if you're not already familiar.

Fawk yeaah BANJOS (BANJOES?)! :D

Listening to the song "Tell Me True" makes me want to compare Sarah Jarosz's voice with Mindy Smith's voice in the song "Come to Jesus."

I've never heard of Mindy Smith, but I love this and you're right; her voice does sound similar. Thanks for posting it! Ugh, another one to add to my list of albums to get most likely. : )

She does have a good sound. Nothing is better than finding underrated musicians :)

So true. But she was a mandolin prodigy at a very young age and was playing with legends by twelve years old...and now she's only twenty with two very favorably reviewed albums under her belt and growing press...so I wouldn't be surprised to se her popularity surge soon.

That first song was addictively good. I may have to pick up her album myself! :)

Glad you liked it and thank you. Apparently she was a prodigy as a child and was already playing with legends like Boz Skaggs by age twelve.

That's kind of sickening. By age twelve I think I think I owned maybe two or three of my own albums and that was the extent of my musical life.

Yeah, I had a few albums and I might have taken a couple keyboard lessons by that time. MIGHT have. So was probably able to play a couple very short songs one note at a time, without chords.
