The Last Haul

Mike gave me the last of the CD's he's getting rid of the other day and it's about one third the size of the other two batches, but there's some great stuff here nonetheless.

Suicidal Tendencies
How Will I Laugh Tomorrow...
Still Cyco After All These Years

The Sisters Of Mercey
Greatest Hits Volume One: A Slight Case Of Overbombing

Faith No ( Read more... )

I'll bet Killer Metal is killer! I remember seeing the Scorpions back in, oh, maybe '93, and there are two things that stand out. One, they did Coast to Coast, and it was one of the baddest things I'd ever seen in my life as far as arena metal goes. Two, the show was way too damn short! I remember when it ended, I looked at my watch and went, "Okay, 60 minutes. There's gonna be long encore, but 15 or 20 more is still cool for show length." Then the house lights came on. I was in denial for about five minutes. I was thinking, "No, they're going to just run on stage suddenly and ROCK!" But, uh, no. That was it. Shortest damn big name concert I've ever seen in my life. Not a total disappointment, but kind of uncool ( ... )

Oh man, that's a bummer. I'm glad they at least performed well though. And, starting to age and all, there are times I wish concerts would be shorter. Sad.

Haha nice work! I've done the same thing many times, except I can't help rubbing it in that they liked a song by an artist they wrote off.

Showing my age here gearhead69, but when The Birthday Party (Nick Cave) played here (New Zealand) in 1981 (I think!), they only played for HALF AN HOUR!!
Nick was in a really bad mood because apparently he couldn't score any heroin, so yeah, half an hour was all he was going to give us hicks (as he called us!) ..
The audience thought he must be joking, and we were all hanging around, and then the house lights came up .. I flew to Australia a week later, and saw them at a nightclub over there, and they played for about an hour and a half, so he must have scored!! :)

Ugh, that sucks. But at least you got to see a full set in Australia and it sounds like you've forgiven him. Reminds me of when I saw The Cult a couple years ago and they kept us waiting for an hour and a half before taking the stage after the opening band. But, they did give us a full length concert at least.

After reading this entry the 1992 version of Temple Of Love (featuring Ofra Haza) has been stuck in my head all day :)

HA! Great song, and now it's firmly lodged in my head. : )

Dude, I'm on my forth listen in a row now. Seriously feeling this song tonight. I have a feeling it's going to be in my head for a while...
