MTV is no longer a moniker, at least in the logo. I used to be one who bitched about how "Music Television" was no longer music television, but it was obvious years ago that you can't blame them when the masses have spoken and ratings provide more than enough proof that it's the right move for business

Argh! I DO vaguely remember hearing something about Young Money being a clique now that you mention it! I feel so old! *quickly edits that bit out of the entry*

I really like Drake. And I like Bruno Mars. I can't stand the way the same songs are played over and over though, so I listen to the radio a lot for about a week at a time, then don't listen for a couple months, then come back to see if anything's new :)

I like Drake, too, and am thinking of picking up his CD today or sometime this weekend, and I like the two songs I've heard from Bruno Mars. I also like a couple of the newer Usher songs I've heard and I'm really looking forward to the new Pitbull album because of this song.

Haha that's exactly what I was thinking -- listen to the radio this week like I have, pick up the albums I really want and explore the other songs by those artists and whatever other genres I end up getting stuck on, and coming back to see what's new in a couple months. It is a shame that they keep the core playlist so small and only play those songs over and over. It makes me think of a pretty awesome independent documentary on the state of the music industry from a few years ago: Before The Music Dies. Familiar? Take a look at the trailer if not. It really is great stuff and there's a lot of good unknown music featured within.

I actually like some of his stuff that I've heard, but I don't listen to the radio much and, so it hasn't been overplayed for me yet. And, I can dig just about anything if I'm in the right mood.

wow. I *am* old enough to remember 120 Minutes and Yo MTV Raps. It really is a shame that they can't find at least an hour or so per day to actually play music videos. The channel has absolutely nothing to do with music now. It may as well be called RTV (Reality TV). Ridiculous! I wish I had Fuse.

Well, they do still play videos in the morning before work and there's still the VMA's, but otherwise, yeah not much to do with music. I do have fuse...fuse is pretty nice, but I get sick of it sometimes, too, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them go the way of MTV down the road.
