'The High Road' is one of those songs i've heard a hundred times, but never knew what it was called or who it was by. but definitely a great pic for one of your top faves, cuz it's a great song. :)

i haven't heard all of the songs you listed, so i'm gonna have to go check them out. :)

I fell in love with Florence + The Machine last year when my cousin turned me onto them and this song is my favorite from the album, but I got it last fall and didn't think of it as this year. It was released as a single this year though, so it totally counts.

They haven't gotten a lot of airplay here either, and they've only released two songs as singles that I know of.

haha and yours doesn't work in the U.S. Is it the video for "Ghost Inside"?

Saving this in a tab so I can come back and listen to them all later, I just listened to the 2 embedded ones here... you're right about the Chris Rock bit, WTF was that??? It made the song comical (I had to LOL at the reupholstered pussy). And it goes on for 2 minutes! Definitely can stop listening when it gets to that bit.

Haha yeah, I laughed at that line, too. I don't have anything against Chris Rock; it just doesn't fit that song! I just jump ahead to the next track at that point most of the time, especially at work. : )

Listened to 'em all, nothing I disliked. I'd heard the Black Keys song before but didn't know what it was, and the Local Natives I believe I'd listened to on your journal before, everything else was new to me. I think my favorite is the Shawn Mullins song.

Wow, you really did listen to them all -- I'm impressed! And I'm impressed that you remembered that I posted "Sun Hands" by Local Natives earlier in the year. Good memory! Man, that Shawn Mullins song gets stuck in my head every time I think of it, and now it is again. Thanks. : ) Anyway, I'm glad you liked it -- have you heard much else from Shawn Mullins?
